What do estate agents charge?

Irish estate agents may charge a percentage of the achieved price, a fixed fee, or a package with separate marketing costs. Percentage commissions of 1%–2% are often used as an illustration, but every quote and service level can differ.

Average commission

There is no single mandatory average commission. Rates are commercially agreed and may be negotiable. Compare the VAT-inclusive euro total rather than assuming the lowest percentage is the best overall value.

Other selling costs

Budget separately for legal work, BER certification, photography, floor plans, advertising or staging where these are not included. Ask for a written schedule of fees and cancellation terms.
